In Hera’s Revenge, you’ll read all about my first custom tour. I’d only been divorced about a year and was rather new at being a travel agent, so I was very excited, and I must confess—a bit nervous. What an experience!

Here’s a brief snippet of what you’ll discover:

We traveled, my small group of fourteen, and I, from sunny metropolitan Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where the Pinkerton Travel agency is located, via New York city, to the fascinating country of Greece and the Greek Islands.

Upon our arrival, with much enthusiasm, I led my charges to the baggage claim area where instead of finding our luggage, we found a dead airport employee revolving on the baggage claim belt, needless to say, our tour got off to a rocky start.

There were several interesting travelers on the tour, each with their own stories and reasons for taking such a vacation. I promise you won’t get confused about who each of them are, they have very distinctive personalities.

But my favorite traveler of all turned out to be someone very special. David Ludlow, owner of his own software company. He first came into the agency needing a vacation from his stressful job, and this itinerary to the land of mythology, Greek philosophers, and early democrats, seemed just the ticket to a leisurely escape. That is, until grumpy passengers, missing museum art, and deadly accidents plagued our journey.

At first I was reluctant, but for the sake of my traveling companions, I was forced to put my researching skills, and my attention to detail, into sleuth mode. Believe me when I tell you, I pulled out all the stops to keep my tour on track and my clients safe.
The author of my stories, Wendy Dingwall, received some great reviews on Hera’s Revenge, her debut novel. Here are just a few:

“The premise for this mystery series is a refreshing addition to the mystery genre. The author excels at interweaving interesting historical and mythological data into the plot. This, along with her vivid visual descriptive, leaves the reader feeling as if s/he is actually touring the Greek Isles along with the group. …Yvonne Suarez is an intriguing character… The mystery is one readers will be challenged to solve, filled with twists and turns and plenty of red herrings." --Christy Tillery French, reviewer for Midwest Book Reviews and author of The Bodyguard series.

“Yvonne, superconscientious travel agent, plans the perfect Greek tour for her group, only to have corpses pop up almost immediately. ...Both in tone and locale—to Mary Stewart’s The Moon-Spinners. ... An abundance of red herrings ... the author’s love of Greece and her insights into a tour group’s dynamics make this light romantic suspense debut a welcome distraction for an armchair traveler. A series to watch.” --Library Journal, May 2011

“Amongst Grecian ruins and museums, Travel agent Yvonne Suarez leads a tour group in Hera’s Revenge when dead people and other strange events force her into amateur sleuth mode.  A budding untimely romance threatens to distract Yvonne from the case and the tour.  Embark on a good mystery and explore Greece via author Wendy Dingwall’s tale where lives and land crisscross.” --Maggie Bishop author of, One Shot Too Many, her latest Appalachian mystery...

By the time the group departs Athens, Suarez has demonstrated she can do more than point out the sights and schedules."  --ForeWord Magazine, October 2011
